My computer was non functional for 3 days this week. Our single, state run telecommunications service took its own sweet time about restoring lines in our area, and my service provider was not amused when I asked her if I needed to take up writing letters and using the post office again! Absolutely no sense of humour.
And with Summer finally here, life seems to get very active, so not much painting gets done.
I did, however, manage to paint from a rather nice pic taken from Dana Marie's Inspiration all Around us blog, of quinces and nuts - I called them walnuts - I think that's what they are.
Now she has another amazing pic posted, so hopefully I will get to that one in the next week!

I didn't see those beautiful koi from your last post until today. It's a scene straight out of a Japanese garden.
I've been so out of the loop lately, now I'm seeing two of your posts in a row. What a treat! Lovely color harmony in this piece. The quinces seem as if lit from inside, like mini paper lanterns.
I am so seeing some lovely crunchy salad! LOL That said, I love this painting, Liz. The leaves especially, though probably no surprise there, eh? I find that when I ask utilities if they are going to credit my account for the days that I didn't get service they usually aren't amused either. Sigh...
I really like the colors that you used in this painting. I also enjoyed chatching up with your blog. Love the bushman painting, a strong piece! Thank you also for sharing all the challenge sites. I had no idea there were so many and there really is inspiration all around us.

Hi Liz - I like your oil still life with the quinces, leaves and nuts.
When our internet went out for five days we were "given" a credit of $1.43. A dollar and forty-three cents. How in the blankety-blank could they come up with that number? A neighbor got less than that, so I guess I made out like a bandit!

Wonderful still life with appealing composition.

Love your still life, haven't seen quinces in years, nice dark shadows, also like the touches of blue on the quinces.

Dear Diana from Arkansas - thank you and isn't it just amazing how much we rely on our mod cons. We had power outages last year which lasted whole days at a time, but could at least boil water for a cup of tea on the gas stove!

Hi Rhonda, thank you. This is from a pic taken from an American blog so I thought quinces were quite common! As far as I can remember, they're not the nicest of fruits but do make nice jam!
