Another challenge I was late for, and I submitted the pic for painting!
I just can't seem to make deadlines. After spending all that time in the advertising industry where deadlines are sacrosanct, I have fallen off the wagon.
This one was for the blog, Inspiration all Around Us - one of the newer challenge blogs, but one where Dana Marie posts some really magnificent pictures. Check it out.
These koi were part of the a household where my sister was housesitting. The other 'residents' were three dogs, a cat and a parrot. I don't think the fish presented any problems!
I have just bought a new camera - very nice indeed. But oh, technology is defeating me! It has a nice new SDHC 4gb card which I discovered my computer can't read (or find, or whatever it does). So the last couple of paintings I've done are sitting inside the camera, unable to see light of day. This also means I will be late for any other challenges out there! Sigh ...

Lovely painting, you have painted the water so well, I have some ref photos of Koi from a recent visit to a Japanese garden but I have shied away from painting them because of the water!
Beautiful Liz, you colors are stunning!
Hi Liz, I like your Koi painting very much. I can't make things in water. I empathize with your camera/memory-card problems. My camera refuses to focus - for me. My wife, Melissa, takes perfect pictures of my paintings with my camera. Mine are ALWAYS fuzzy! grrrrrrrr. Maybe we shouldn't have retired? NAH!!!!!
Keep up the good work with painting, the camera/tekkie stuff will happen when it's supposed to. Or so I'm told. :-)

Liz, This is beautiful! I have done a koi painting or two, and I know the challenges...very nice indeed!!
Liz this painting has such a nice feel to it. Love the bubbles. Good luck with the new camera.
That was a really nice photograph you sent in -- but the painting is magic. Beautifully done!
Beautiful Liz, so soft and surreal!
Thank you Diana - this is my first time painting fish!
Gosh Krista, thank you so much.
Thank you Ken. As for the camera thingie, I am now going to get hold of our computer fundi to come and help me. Retirement? Who retired? I seem to be doing as much as ever, the difference is I sooo enjoy it! Wouldn't go back to the corporate world for anything.
They were quite a challenge Saundra and I had my doubts, but in the end quite like the result. Thank you so much.
Hi Vern, you should know about fish - considering your banner is those beautiful koi. Thank you for your comment and I've included your blog under my Canadian list.
Thank you so much Charlene!
Nancy, that comment coming from you is a real treat. Thank you lovely lady.
Liz, you've done this piece so beautifully. The way you've captured the refraction of the water is fabulous. I love that you've included both solid orange and white and orange koi, as well.

Ah Rob, I seem to get some of the paintings done, but technology is leaving me behind! Thank you for the visit and glad to see you back again.
Gosh Prabal, what a wonderful compliment. Thank you so much.
I love your part of the world Marie and it is just 'up the road' so maybe a nice lazy drive to olive country is called for. Thank you for your kind words.
Well done, Liz, this is a great painting!
hi, liz, the fishes in motion has created a magic in this painting!!Of late i am very busy with work and painting,so after a long time surfing and visiting other blogs...and enjoying your blog!
Wow! Liz, the colors are so lovely!
This is so beautiful and peaceful to look at, Liz. I can see the rhythm of fish moving through water when looking at your painting. Wonderful! Hope you get your camera/computer thing worked out. I know how frustrating it can be. Just type the keywords of your problem into Google, browse a few pages, usually you'll find someone who's found a solution to your problem. It's saved the day for me so many times.
I like the abstract quality of this painting...nice flow of colour.
