This is for Bill Guffey's challenge this month - Lisbon. I searched and searched and eventually found this old run down looking farmhouse type building (and yes, it is in Lisbon) that I thought was rather nice to paint.
I struggled a bit and feel it's not quite as I would like it, but I've sent it off anyway.
Another problem is the photography! My trusty old camera died. So now I've had to use a 'cheap and nasty' that my sister has. But that's no excuse, I just took lousy pictures! So if it seems a little bit blurry, it is, don't check your specs.

Hi Liz! This is good! The landscape looks so similar to ours.No idea about the climate though!
What a lovely choice for your painting, Liz! I found it difficult to find someplace to paint in Portugal. For some reason, nothing really grabbed me. After several sessions of looking, I finally found a house that I loved and set to. I love country scenes though, and this is no exception. Is part of the roof missing? I love catching some of the old farm ruins around where I live, so this is especially cool to see!
everything so perfect in this landscape.. lovely painting
Though the photo quality may not be to your standards, I see it is a definite Elizabeth Pearson jewel. Love this Liz!
Hi Ramesh - you are so kind! I've never been to Spain or Portugal, but I think it's quite warm! We also have similar kinds of landscapes around SA. Also some really run down old houses!
Thank you Autumn Leaves. It was difficult wasn't it. I think yours is really refreshing and yes, the roof of this had collapsed!
From master landscape artists such as you Ajay, this is a fantastic compliment. Thank you.
Oh lovely Sheila, you are so incredible with your time and kind words. I thank you. LOL
Beautiful choice Liz! Thanks for stopping by my blog. Your comments means so much to me. Well, This is an excellent painting. The house is also looking great to live..:)
I love the idea of this challenge, Liz!!
Hey... the painting's great and all of your work deserves a new camera don't you think??? Do you have a birthday, anniversary, special event or even a Monday coming up soon???
TREAT yourself... you're soooo worth it!!
Hi Liz, very nice, love the foreground flowers too. It is fun to paint farmhouses, as you know it is something I love to do also.
Hi Megha- your blog is so worth visiting! And thank you for being so kind about my Lisbon house.

I would love to see you take up this challenge Marian. Your plein air work would make this a doddle! And yes, birthday coming up at Christmas time - maybe a few hints thrown around! Thank you!
Thank you Barbara. I have a long way to go on old houses - yours are hard to live up to!!
Very nice! Whether Lisbon, America, Europe - you can't lose with farm scenes! You have done a marvelous job!!
Liz, this is beautiful - well done for finding such a tranquil pastoral scene in Lisbon! And thanks for the pointer to this challenge - I've just done a painting and a post about it - still have to work out how to post it on Bill's site though...
