Saundra's ... goose!

I had forgotten that I had painted this picture of Saundra's goose (or she thought it may be a duck!) because it was done in about 2 hours as opposed to my usual 2 weeks!

It presented such a wonderful pose that just begged to be put into paint, and as everyone who reads my blog knows by now, I love all animals, this delightful goose being no exception. Not that I'd tempt fate by going too near any goose as they are known to be rather fierce watch..geese! Probably better than my two rather soppy Rottweilers!

So here he/she is - Saundra's feathered friend!

Love this, nice and loose. Something to be said for painting quick and the freshness you get that way. You are right, they can be mean. lol

2 hours! Amazing, you must have tied your hands up working so fast! And it's a goose I'm sure because of the beak (I have 14 so I'm hoping I know what I'm talking about!)

I love it here as much as on my blog Liz! I'm so glad the mystery (of course only to me) has been solved...Goose it is! And a lovely one at that! Great job! I agree...there's something to be said for those occasional wonderful quick successes!

Your (or Saundra's) goose is so full of life! Lovely spontaneous painting - isn't it great when that happens? There was a flock of geese at my school in Cape Town (Westerford) that terrorised us when we played hockey... had us all flat on the ground when they dive-bombed!

Gosh Stephen, thank you!

Thank you Barbara - I've been trying to free up for some time, so maybe I need to work faster!

Hi Karie-Ann. My first thought when the question was raised, goose v duck was, Karie-Ann would definitely know! And you did! (I think I also did as I've had a run-in with one)

Hi again Saundra. You are so unbelievably generous with your pics and I loved this fella. (I also think a duck has a shorter neck?)

Hi Cathy, ex Westerford girl hey! Geese are like poppies, I think, in that they're great to paint. Just a different colour!

It's amazing what you can do in just two hours. I think geese and lovely subjects to paint and draw.

I couldn't agree more Carolann! I think a rooster would be a different call though!!

Thank you so much Dean. Coming from you, that is really a compliment.

Thank you Suzanne - I will try (the canvas was also a bit smaller than I usually use, so maybe that helped?)

Gosh Carol, I try to keep up with you guys so I though 2 hours was the norm! As I mentioned to Suzanne, the canvas was also a bit smaller!

2 hours, wow! I don't trust geese either, they will chase after you for nothing at the lake by our house.

Congrats on the award you spoke about in your last post. Had to remark on this one, though. He looks like the "Aflac" duck, which to me always looked like a Goose. Don't know if you have this commercial for Disability Insurance where you live - probably not. But the commercials are a crack up and your beautiful bird looks just like him!
