She discovered squeaky toys late in life and this little pink one was HERS. It seemed to be the only one that wasn't destroyed, maybe because it was a little bit spiky.
This painting of Emma is also my warm-up for Sheila's Art for Animals blog. I need to take photos and get down to painting the unwanted dogs that people throw away. Watch this space!

Liz, Your sweet dog has such a beautiful gentle look. You gave her a great tribute. I had the best cat in the world who died about 3 years ago in a terrible garage door accident. I have the sweetest pictures of Shadow but I have not been able to paint her yet...you've inspired me to try one day soon!

Hello Ajay. I really appreciate that comment coming from you. As for the IPL? Well, can you really call it the IPL now? I personally think it's so sad for the Indian cricket viewing public as they are mad keen on their cricket.
Hi Ramesh. I decided to paint Emma when I read about highlighting a black dog with Art Spectrum Lilac. For the black I used Prussian blue and Cad red.
I will be going to the IPL even though I'm not a 20/20 fan - I'm a 5 day addict.
She was the most bestest dog in the world Saundra and painting brought back lovely memories of her. Even though painting Shadow will be hard, it is so worth it and I look forward to seeing her.
Liz, your love for Emma clearly shows in this beautiful portrait. What a beautiful girl! I finally got my Winnie Wiggles down on canvas a few months ago and she has been in the studio with me ever since. I hope this portrait gives you comfort, too.

What a beautiful portrait, Liz. I love the glow on her fur, and the light in her eyes. I can see that you miss her, and I think you will treasure this painting every time you see it. I have paintings and drawings of two cats that were with me for 15 and 18 years respectively, and I'm so glad I have those.

Hi there, I am dropping in on you from Florida, USA. I found you on Nancy and the fatties blog. I kove her art and her pugs, as I have a pug + 5 other dogs. I'm sure you do miss Emma, what a sweet looking rotti. I may have to put down my chihuahua tomorrow, going to see what the vet says. I have always wanted to visit Afica.
