Busy Bee

I seem to spend my time apologising for not blogging!  I haven't been visiting or blogging these past 3 weeks - how time flies - as I'm still coming to grips with this new 'job' I've taken on.  But it's slowly coming together and I'm getting my head around what is needed.

But I'm making no promises.  I will TRY to visit more often, post more often, and in order to do so, paint more often!  That's kind of taken a back seat as well - just my two mandatory days a week.

This little painting I did a few weeks ago and it's done from a photograph, with permission, taken by incredible photographer Marty.  Pay her blog a visit -she does the most amazing close-up work, and when I saw this bee, I had to ask her if I could paint it.  Merci Marty.

Well done India on winning the World Cup!

Fabulous painting with just the right amount of details. Great work.
And yes, South Africa had its share in the cup... our South African coach, Gary was carried around the stadium by the team members on their shoulders ! What better tribute to his greatness.

Liz, this is so very beautiful! I love the almost ethereal, gossamer sense to both the wings of the bee and this beautiful little flower. What kind of work are you doing now?

Wonderful painting. I love how the bee is semi hidden in the grass. :-)

Nice painting Liz.

Don't worry about us, we know you are busy, it's not a problem. Just pop by when you can :D

Oh! Another bug (see Olivia at http://atelierpetitemer.blogspot.com/). I love painting bugs. And you've done a beautiful job here. Especially with the fine fur. And the bees... they need such attention and respect from us. As they dwindle, so does our own grip on this planet.

I don't know what your current "job" is but, if you look around, you'll notice that many of us have slowed WAY DOWN on our blogging.

I send you love and all good wishes. XO

Cette dernière oeuvre est terriblement belle... j'aime la légèreté avec laquelle vous avez traduit cette abeille qui butine. C'est vraiment étonnant et sensationnel.
Bravo! et gros bisous.

Hi Ak, thanks for the lovely comment! And the comforting words about your South African coach! He did a good job, and Anil Kumble knew what he was doing when he first contacted Gary (I was a very good friend of Gary's mom until she died two years ago!)

Wow Sherry, thank you! And I love your new pic. I have taken over the secretarial job for the South African Society of Artists - they do pay me - and it's just a case of learning everything and putting everything in its place so I know what's what!

Gosh Vicki, thanks for the visit and the comment! I went to your blog and you do some fascinating things - making books, wow!

Hi Crystal! Thank you - Marty takes some awesome close up pics!

Ah Sue, thank you for being so understanding! Today I actually painted - a painting that I've been working on for 3 weeks! Very unlike me.

Hi Suzanne. I also noticed another bee on Artistic Sentiments challenge blog! Bee season? And I do so agree with you about all the little creatures on our planet.

There is an ethereal quality to the colors you have used and it is a challenge to show what is hidden than to bring it out completely!Nice one Liz!

This painting is captivating, Liz--I truly love it! Your soft, subtle, yet convincing rendering of both flower and bee is impressive, indeed.

I know just what you mean, Liz. Sometimes i feel so bad for not getting round my bloggy friends more often. But hey, i feel bad for not getting round to painting more often, so what's new.

So you just take it easy. Let's all agree to stop beating ourselves up. We know we are all there for each other and that life crowds in and crowds out. Go with the flow.

And as for Mr Bumbles, what a charmer!
