A Great Festive Season to Everyone!

I hope everyone out there had the most wonderful Christmas ever!  Whatever you did, I hope you did it well.

Here in Sunny SA we lunched next to the water wearing our cut-off jeans and t-shirts and didn't envy anyone in the Northern Hemisphere AT ALL!  What dreadful weather you guys up there are having - all those airplanes being grounded and just before Christmas as well!  All we see are pictures of snow and more snow!  So here's a picture of the Father Christmas who visited us - (it's actually our friend Dawne, but who cares, we had a good laugh!)

And despite the fact that I haven't been blogging or computing very much, I have done a couple of paintings.  I get up really early (5am), take the dogs for their walk, feed the birds (and the dogs) and then get into the studio for a couple of hours before it gets too hot.   This I did over a few days that way.  It's of a gorgeous young lady who lives in Sweden.  Her name is Sophie and if she sees it, I hope she likes it.

By then it's too hot and after pottering in the garden, it's time to watch cricket!  Yes, Summertime is Cricket Time!  Love it.  And for all my Indian friends out there, my small tribute to one of the greatest cricketers in the World!

Sachin Tendulkar

Stunning portrait of Sophie, Liz - she looks a lot like my daughter at that age, especially the glorious hair. We're enjoying the warm sunny Christmastime too - and of course the cricket (not good for painting and sketching though!)

Envy you,Liz! Though we are not having all that snow in Delhi, its still very cold!....The painting of this beautiful young lady is great, with the background complimenting her green eyes.
About the sketch, its very good-(I am sure Prabal is going to be very excited ):) you caught sachin's charateristic grin very well!
Wish you a great 2011.

The portrait is wonderful. It’s odd from up here in the north to be thinking about lounging in shorts and being too hot. Have a great New Year

So glad you enjoyed your Christmas...

It's always funny when most of the nation is "white" ... we did have a break in our storms (which were wet not white) and our Christmas DAY was beautiful... then it rained again at night.

Happy New Year to you!

Hi Cathy, and thank you. Sophie does have the most beautiful hair and was great to paint! Just spent the last 3 days at cricket and will be going again this morning!

Thank you Arti and as for the cold - well - when it's as hot as it was yesterday and going to be today, a bit of cold would be nice! But you think the other way round! And yesterday I got Sachin's autograph on the sketch! Will post it to make the whole of India envious!!

Hi Sophie! Thank you for being such a wonderful model! And my next trip will definitely be in Summer as I can't get used to all that snow you have! If not this year, then definitely next. Lots of love.

Thank you Barbara - she is gorgeous and as you can see, she likes it!

Hi Ramesh, thank you and your work is very easy to love! When I grow up I want to paint like you! And saw Sachin get another 100 yesterday, plus his autograph on my sketch!

Hi Marian! Your turn with the heat will come again soon! Like you, in winter we don't have snow, but it does get quite chilly with (hopefully) lots of rain!

Thank you so much Hilda for your lovely comment.
