Butterfly

I haven't been doing very much just lately - the 'flu did knock me sideways and now I'm sitting at the Members Exhibition at Kirstenbosch every day for this week.

So I've been seriously missing from blog commentaries, but, like Arnie, I will be back.

In the meantime, this was done for James Parker's Windows to the Words blog last month - butterflies - those beautiful insects that are disappearing fast because we insist on killing caterpillars!  Thank you James, for those lovely pics.  Am looking forward to this month's challenge.

You have so beautifully captured the delicate beauty of this butterfly, Liz. I love the soft background and the stem really just blows me away with its soft colors that are so spot on and rich in and of themselves!

this is beautiful. I love the bird paintings.

nice watercolour Liz.
the shallow depth of field (with blurred background and the leaf) has made the butterfly stand-out. I must say, "well composed".

Thank you very much Laura!

Hi Prabal, I'm fine thank you - desperately trying to do some computer work before I go off to Kirstenbosch - there are so many blogs I have to visit and will probably only get to them on Monday! Thank you for being so complimentary about my little watercolours!

Thank you Sylviane, for the visit and the lovely comment.

Hello Ajay! Thank you, and I will visit as soon as this computer doesn't throw me out!

Art with Liz said...

Ok Ajay, got there - you've changed your site and it's looking great! Have you had a response to it?

Dear Sherry, you always have the most wonderful things to say about my work. Thank you for that - it's comments like these that keep me encouraged!

Hi Suzanne, thank you, and I will be visiting as soon as I've finished this sitting stint! The Gulf situation is awful and I support you every inch of the way. By the way, we have a mini problem here at the moment - a fairly recent wreck caught fire yesterday as they were trying to dismantle it and of course there's now oil coming up onto the beach. Nothing like the Gulf, but a sad state of affairs just the same.

Ah dear Barbara, thank you so much!

Hi there Saundra, great to hear from you as always and thank you for the great comment!

Hi there Marie, I'm great thank you! How are you doing in this cold weather? Keeping nice and warm and painting up a storm in that beautiful house of yours, I hope!

Wonderfully done, Liz...
I hope you feel well... The flu can really take it out of you ... and other obligations do take so much time... but make life sweet.

I especially love the variety of colors in the branch the lovely little guy is sitting on!

Prabal said...

Liz,
How have you been keeping? I hope you have recovered fully. Are you watching any football match?

Elizabeth Anderson said...

How are you? Are you wrapped up in the World Cup Soccer? Just thought I'd pop in to say hello. Hope you're fully recovered.

Thank you for your wonderful comments, you keep me going.
Have you changed your email address, Liz? I have enquired several times re 'Kate', did Ginny get to England? Have I missed her?
Obviously delete this bit, but I would like to know how to proceed.
PS glad you are feeling better.
