My Greek Holiday

Oh, I have been so lax about photographing and posting my paintings. I just don't seem to strike the right time of day to take photos and all the latest ones have such glare on them. Even this one, which was taken by a friend of mine while on holiday in Greece, had a shine on it that I battled to subdue.

I need to search back through r.garriott's photoshop tips on lessons to combat this!

In the meantime, I painted this in January before I went to a cold, snowy, Sweden. Quite a contrast!

Great colors! And I sympathize with your glare, although it doesn't show much here. Thanks for the plug!

With all of those gorgeous colors I'll be that if you had taken it up north with you it might have kept you warm!!!

I think we all battle with glare. I keep getting these strange wavy lines in mine rather than a spot of glare.... Don't know what causes it or how to get rid of it. Sorry I can't help.

Very colorful, indeed...is that boganvillias in the right corner? I like the use of primary colors here; very cheerful painting.

This is beautiful--glare or not! I can empathize with photography issues. Love the joyous colors here!

The bright bougainvilleas caught my eye first thing! I love those so much, they come in so many colors. I would love to have a bisg bush in my yard, but the thorns keep me from having one. Afraid my dogs would get hurt since they get into eveything. Simply beautiful!!

Oh Sanjeev, I am so sorry about the rain, but it's Cape Town and to be expected. Durban always rains - exciting game on Thursday though?? Always love your visits.

Hi Fabio, thank you so much coming from an artist of your talent! I would imagine your part of the world is also as colourful as this.

I loved using those colours Ramesh - bright colours are so cheerful. Thank you.

Hello Dean from Deano's Den! Love to have you visit and thank you for the kind words.

Hello Susan, so nice to hear from you. I also so want to go there but the second (actually 12th) best was sharing a friend's holiday with her.

Ah, fabulous Sheila, you do so much yet find the time to visit me - you are amazing. One day we'll both get to Greece - just hold the thought!

Hey r, thanks for the lovely compliment. Now that you're re-arranging your blogs, I'll have to resort my blog list - later maybe!

As usual Marian, you make me smile! Didn't think of taking it with me at the time, but I might need it now that winter is on it's way. I have just photographed a very dry painting and guess what? no glare. Also it's overcast and I really think that helps. Keep trying!

Hi Arti, yes they are bougainvilleas (I did a spell check on that!!) - I have one large one in my garden so it was an easy reference. Primary colours are so satisfying.

Thank you Liz, for the compliment and the visit.

Hi Carol thank you but I just want to go to Greece! This was a good friend's holiday snap that I saw and just had to paint because of the colours. One day I will get there - maybe a round-the-world trip??!!

Oh Becky, you must get one. We have two big dogs and no problem. The thorns are higher up on the branches.
